The concept that birthed our company originated twenty-three years ago as I was a guest in someone’s Melbourne home.  Sitting in their living room and adjacent to the door slider that led out to the pool and screen enclosure I pondered the thought that homes in Florida were built for the homeowners to enjoy the outdoors with patios, screen enclosures and pools but missing were products to provide shade, privacy, and weather control.

Within two weeks I was walking into the offices of Brevard home builders with a sample of a retractable solar shade to be used on a patio or in a screen enclosure.

This cold-call initiation was followed by home shows, direct mail, and door hangers in residential communities.  Later, Home Advisor and Angi would provide the leads throughout Central Florida.  Strategic relationships were formed with key manufacturing companies and now many years and many new products later, Shade Solutions by JK Studio Designs, Inc. is still providing innovative solutions for residents to enjoy outdoor living. 

There are four categories of products you will find on our website:

• Exterior Shade Products, that include retractable and stationary awnings and retractable shade screens. 
• Hurricane Products include the type that a homeowner can self-deploy; metal and lexan panels along with hurricane fabric panels.  The type that stays on the home, not requiring storage are Accordion Shutters, Metal and Hurricane Fabric Roll-Down systems, Bahama and Colonial Shutters. 
• The third category is Interior Window Treatments: Horizontal Blinds, Vertical Blinds, and the vast selections of Roller Shades, Transitional Shades, Cellular Shades and Plantation Shutters. 
• Finally, a most versatile category are Patio and Screen Enclosure Conversions using Side Slider Windows and Combination Doors that turn a screen room into a 12-month outdoor room!
